Kostas Prapoglou
Curator & Exhibition Essay
Kostas Prapoglou is an archaeologist-architect, contemporary art critic and curator. He holds a doctorate in Roman Architecture and worked as Exhibitions Manager at Madame Tussaud’s in London for seven years. He works as an arts writer for numerous publications and online platforms around the globe, including Art Asia Pacific (Hong Kong), OCULA (Hong Kong), Third Text (UK), Aesthetica (UK), thisistomorrow (UK), XIBT (Italy) and THE SEEN (USA), Chicago’s International Journal for Modern and Contemporary Art. His texts have been featured by various galleries and institutions such as Marian Goodman, Parasol Unit, Alison Jacques and Hauser & Wirth. Since 2024, he has been a juror for apexart’s international open call programme in New York. He has curated over 150 solo exhibitions and is currently curating a series of large-scale site-specific exhibitions in Athens, activating abandoned private and public spaces through the artistic practices of Greek and international artists. His latest curatorial projects include: Fluid Boundaries (six galleries, Exarchia, Athens, 2026); all aboard (Athens International Airport, 2025); wanderlust / all passports (Schliemann - Mellas Mansion, Athens, 2024); The Butterfly Effect (Mouzakis - Butterfly factory, Athens, 2023); reality check chapter ii: inner sanctum (Psychiatric Hospital of Attica, Dafni, 2022); shifting identities –a tale of dissolving narratives (Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Nicosia, Cyprus, 2022); reality check chapter i (Psychiatric Hospital of Attica, Dafni, 2021); [un]known destinations chapter III: reconnection ---a second chance (5 venues across Kypseli, Athens, 2019), +9 (Iera Odos, Athens, 2019); Sky is the Limit (Sydney, Australia, 2019); [un]known destinations chapter II: shell // the politics of being (15th Kypseli High School, Athens, 2018); Trails of Memories by Arianna Economou, a project for Pafos 2017 European Capital of Culture; [un]known destinations chapter I (Zarifi residence, Athens); Latitudes | Humanscapes, an exhibition for the city of Eleusis’ (Greece) official bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2021. He is the founder of non-profit arts organisation artefact Athens, which aims to activate abandoned locations through contemporary art. He has developed a keen interest in notions of transnational and transhistorical discourse of socio-political parameters that are embedded in continuously emerging paradigms of ancient and contemporary cross-cultural narratives. He served as President of the Artistic Committee of the Museum of Modern Greek Art in Rhodes between 2024 and March 2026 and has served as the Museum’s Artistic Director since March 2026. He is also a consultant for major corporate and private art collections in Greece and abroad.
Lefteris Moissiadis
Founder & Project Manager
Lefteris Moissiadis works across strategic communications, institutional and international relations, and the development of complex projects. His professional experience spans public administration, local government, European institutions and the private sector, with a particular focus on building strategic collaborations and creating shared fields of action between organisations, institutions and people from different backgrounds.
He has held positions of responsibility in international and European Union affairs and, in this context, has worked with the European Committee of the Regions, as well as with institutional and business organisations in Greece and abroad. His work has also involved the design and implementation of European programmes, public-outreach initiatives and projects connecting communication with culture, society and contemporary urban experience. He studied European Culture and Journalism.
He is the originator and project manager of Synastry, a multidimensional cultural project bringing contemporary art into dialogue with astronomy, poetry, music, history and inclusion.
Through his initiative and under his overall coordination, Synastry developed organically from an initial idea into an extensive network of collaborations, establishing a presence across emblematic cultural and scientific venues in Athens. At its core lies his conviction that significant ideas do not exist in isolation; they acquire meaning by connecting different people, languages and ways of understanding the world.
